Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on April 28, 1952. She is an American stage actor, film and television star. Her role in Dances with Wolves, Stands With A Fist and Passion Fish were rewarded with Academy Award nominations. McDonnell is most well-known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica as President Laura Roslin as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell was a character in Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's show The Closer. She also played in Major Crimes, the spin-off series on the same network as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
