In the film Campfire Stones, she played in the role when she was just 20 years old. Jekyll This Means War & Chasing Mavericks were a couple of her previous films. As part of Beautiful Now, she was nominated for the Madrid International Film Festival Award. She played Lucy Preston the history professor in Timeless. Spencer was named a Teen Choice Award nominee for Spencer's performance in Timeless. Timeless has earned praise from critics.
